Cookies

What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files that are received on the device from the website visited and are used to record certain interactions during navigation on a website by storing data that can be updated and retrieved. These files are stored on the user’s computer and contain anonymous data that is not harmful to their device. They are used to remember user preferences, such as the selected language, access data, or page customisation.
Cookies can also be used to record anonymous information about how a visitor uses a website. For example, from which webpage they accessed it, or if they used an advertising “banner” to get there.

Why do we use cookies?

GENIUM SOCIETY S.L.U. uses strictly necessary and essential cookies for you to use our websites and to allow you to move freely, use secure areas, customised options, etc. In addition, GENIUM SOCIETY S.L.U. uses cookies that collect data related to website usage analysis. These are used to help improve customer service, measuring the usage and performance of the page, to optimise and customise it.

Our sites may also have social media links (such as Facebook or Twitter). GENIUM SOCIETY S.L.U. does not control the cookies used by these external networks. For more information about social media cookies or other external websites, we recommend reviewing their own cookie policies.

What do we use the different types of cookies for?

Session cookies: Session cookies are those that last for the time the user is browsing the website and are deleted at the end.

Persistent cookies: These cookies remain stored on the user’s device for a longer period, thereby facilitating the management of the chosen preferences without having to repeat certain parameters each time the website is visited.

First-party cookies: These are cookies created by the website that can only be read by the site itself. For example: technical cookies for loading images, cookies for customising website parameters, traffic analysis cookies, etc.

Third-party cookies: These are cookies created by third parties that we use for different services (e.g. website analysis or advertising).

According to their purpose:

Technical cookies: Technical cookies are those that are essential and strictly necessary for the correct functioning of a website portal and the use of the various options and services it offers. For example, those used to maintain the session, manage response time, performance or option validation, use security features, share content with social networks, etc.

Customisation cookies: These cookies allow the user to specify or customise certain features of the general options of the website, for example, defining the language, regional settings, or type of browser.

Analytical cookies: Analytical cookies are those used by our website portal to create browsing profiles and to understand the preferences of its users in order to improve the range of products and services offered. For instance, through an analytical cookie, the geographical areas of greatest interest to a user would be tracked, which product has the highest acceptance, etc.

Advertising cookies: Advertising cookies enable the management of advertising spaces based on specific criteria. For example, access frequency, edited content, etc. Advertising cookies allow information about behaviour to be stored through observation of habits, studying accesses, and forming a profile of user preferences, to offer advertisements related to the interests of their profile.
